A Unique Perspective on Southeast Asia

The appeal of distant lands, the unique sights and smells, the oddity of it all. Southeast Asia can capture your imagination, startle you, tempt you and seduce you. And on a cruise ship, your first views of each stop along the way will be memorable - ah, so that's Hong Kong! Indeed it is, in its full glory.

And Vietnam, so different, so beautiful, not like you would have imagined it from your studies of North American history. Southeast Asia is a bizarre, enchanting and exciting place - the right honeymoon for the right couple. And a cruise is a carefree way to sample it.

You will board the Radisson Seven Seas ship M. S. Song of Flower in cosmopolitan Singapore after two days at the historic Raffles Hotel. This is a peaceful place to transition from airplane to Asia, where you will be captivated by its colonial charm and pampered to the fullest extent possible. Before departing the hotel, don't forget to stop by the famous Long Bar for an original Singapore Sling. Soon, you will board the ship, head out of port and begin your journey towards Vietnam.

You've heard so much about this exotic destination…. you are both anxious to get out and explore. First stop is Ho Chi Minh City, which still goes by its original name of Saigon. What did Ho Chi Minh do to this place? The Cu Chi Tunnels, the Museum of American War Crimes (as it is known locally), the hustle and bustle of the streets, and oh, the food! Look out for all those motor scooters!

You've had your first taste of Vietnam, now there's more. Visit the historical cities of Qui Nhon and Da Nang, where as one of you may find interesting, the women choose their husbands. Side trip to the countryside to see Hue, the former home of Imperial Emperors, or frequent the museums that capture the history of the Vietnam coast.

Next, at Hai Phong, don't miss the opportunity to travel inland to visit Hanoi - a fascinating city rich in architecture, culture and history. Many find the city's eclectic mix of French and Vietnamese culture to be alluring.

By contrast, and by now you know Asia is full of them, you will travel to Halong Bay, a natural wonder with thousands of craggy mountain peaks jutting straight out of the water. Take a boat tour, or take a more intimate look via kayak.

During this trip, you may find yourselves saying… Is that bar really called Apocalypse Now? How will we ever fit through that tiny opening at the Cu Chi Tunnels? Why does Hanoi remind us of Paris? Will our pictures of Halong Bay turn out - no one will believe us otherwise! Is it possible that Hong Kong has the most beautiful skyline of any city?

And so your adventure comes to a close in Hong Kong, but not before you have some fun in this remarkable city. Your base for exploration will be a beautiful suite at the luxurious Regent Hotel overlooking Hong Kong Bay. This side of Asia is electric, filled with energy but still in harmony with the peace and tranquility you saw earlier. A perfect way to start your marriage - with excitement, relaxation and balance.

Who will enjoy this trip
Those who are culturally intrigued by Asia, or wish to experience the stark contrasts this continent provides. Those who enjoy visiting cosmopolitan cities and out of the way places. Those interested in discovering Vietnam.

Who should avoid this trip
Those who prefer not to explore the shore options - there are plenty of other cruises where you can simply relax on board. The sights here are not to be missed.
