A moment at the
Beach...
It's quiet, and breathtaking. The two of you have been dropped off on one of Lizard Island's 24 private beaches, which today, you have all to yourselves. It's day 3 of your Australian honeymoon, and you still can't get over how soft the powdery white sand is, or how in the world the water can be that blue. The resort has packed an abundant picnic basket complete with a lovely bottle of Barossa Valley Semillon. Sunscreen on, umbrella up, glass in hand, all there is to do now is …. relax. Tomorrow will be your day for diving on the Barrier Reef, but today, it's about the sea, the sky, and being together.

Amanyara
turks and caicos
For seekers of soft, white sand, impossibly blue water and beautiful stretches of beach, Turks and Caicos, in the Caribbean's British West Indies, is hard to beat. Equally hard to beat in the context of Turks is Amanyara, a member of the Aman family of luxury resorts. Located on the secluded northwestern side of the main island, Providenciales, the property is perfect for those people who value true relaxation without need to be busy every day. The beaches are breathtaking: in addition to one long, lovely resort beach, there are little strips of sand that act as private oceanfront dunes for the lucky guests in the corresponding pavilion or villa. The property's understated design is Balinese-inspired, with wide open spaces, muted tones, and reflecting pools. Pavilions are enormous, with plenty of outdoor living space; many also have swimming pools. Villas range from 3-5 bedrooms and are perfect for discerning family groups. Dining features healthy Asian and Continental options. There is also a beautiful spa, and guests are invited to partake in activities such as diving, whale watching, golf, fishing, and an on-site nature center. But for most, days will be lazy, as the beauty of the coastal environment and the resort takes away any and all stress related to regular life.
Vamizi Island

In the Quirimbas Archipelago of northern Mozambique, Vamizi Island isn't easy to reach. Accessed via Dar es Salaam, Tanzania or Pemba, Mozambique, the journey takes time, but as with anything worth doing, you'll be glad you made the effort. As you come in for a landing, you may see whales and dolphins from above. You'll also catch your first glimpse of the soft white sands that are characteristic of the island's coralline composition, and which will bring you much pleasure over the coming days. With only thirteen villas and a size of 12 km long by 1 km wide, Vamizi ensures there are more than enough secluded beaches for all. Divers will be in ecstasy; the resort's secret is a sheer walled canyon that plunges a kilometer into the deep, providing dive sites beyond compare and some of the healthiest reef systems anywhere. With more than 1700 sqft / 170 sqm, each villa is airy, with ample outdoor space, and furnished in an island-chic style. There are no TVs or air conditioners; Vamizi is designed to be simple and real, not full of bells and whistles. Dining is relaxed, whether beachside or by lantern light at night – perfect for a bit of relaxed castaway romance. We think Vamizi Island is absolutely perfect for a honeymoon, but if an escapist's paradise is appealing, then by all means, don't wait for your next special occasion.
