A little about the two of us...

How we met

Darren and I met through a mutual friend (Christine) who had wanted to set us up for quite some time. The problem was I was dating someone else at the time. When that ended, Christine arranged a dinner with a number of friends, including Darren and I — the intent was to allow us to meet in a less awkward situation. Lo and behold, the "other friends" began to drop like flies, and the next thing we knew, it was only Darren and I going to dinner. When Christine told Darren that his first date with me was going to be to a fancy dinner, his mouth dropped open and he stared at her in disbelief (so she says). He was accustomed to quick drinks for a first blind date. But he sucked it up and went anyway. As it turns out, we had a wonderful time and, as they say, the rest is history....

Who we are

Darren is currently a freelance travel writer, having recently left an executive position with a Chicago-area "dotcom." Prior to that, he spent six years as a corporate attorney. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his law degree from UCLA. He loves to travel, trek and ski.

I'm (still) a practicing attorney, well, I'm not practicing at this exact moment but I plan to when I return. I went to Washington University (in St. Louis) for both my undergraduate and law degrees. I am into photography and running. Hopefully, some of my better pictures will make it onto this site!

Why we are doing this

That's easy. We love to travel, we love to explore and we love new experiences. Plus, we were fortunate enough to be able to take an extended break from work! We hope to be able to convey the essence of the places we visit so that you might pick up a few honeymoon ideas of your own. Our itinerary is on the complex side, but MoonRings has been invaluable in putting the trip together for us.
